The Love & Respect Marriage Banquet is this Friday, February 14! It is a one-night dinner banquet with special guest speakers from Every Nation about the tools to have a healthy, strong and thriving marriage.
Sermon Series: Love & Respect – Fight Fair
Scripture teaches us that we should honor and respect all men, but when we come down to the relationship of husband to wives, and wives to husbands, Scripture gives us important, additional emphasis.
Husbands are told specifically to love their wives as Christ loved the church (Ephesians 5:25) and wives are told specifically to respect their husband as the church does Christ (Ephesians 5:33).
Since the garden of Adam and Eve, the enemy wants to bring division between husband and wife and male and female. Why? He is afraid of unity and the power that comes against his kingdom when we are one.
Friend, when conflict arises, let us not be people who let the sun go down on our anger (Ephesians 4:26-27). In times of trouble and conflict, there are three things that we should be quick to do:
- Be quick to repent – Acts 3:19
- Be quick to forgive – Colossians 3:13
- Be quick to believe – 1 Timothy 6:12
